Artist Statement
Epiphanies
My paintings are about introspection, hopefulness and manifestation.
Much like a seed buried deep within the soil, we silently meditate hidden thoughts and feelings. In quiet reflection intuition glimpses probable impossibility: hope. Dormancy transforms into glorious display; our ponderings transform into revelations.
Collaboration between intuition and discipline, I seek a dynamic essence with expansive paint - layering, building texture, pushing color to create an effect that is both generous and unexpected. Inviting one within the painting to meditate intimately, imagery dissolves into expressionism, becoming more about paint and gesture, energy and vibrancy.
In my view, art is a relational experience, happening simultaneously on different planes, be it between art and artist, art and viewer, or viewer and artist. My paintings invite engagement and contemplation, touching others in ways that I will never fully know. I believe in art’s potential to create connections, spark joy and ultimately, affirm life.
