About the Artist

I filter life’s experiences which the artist in me translates into color and texture, savoring the diversity, immediacy and playfulness of painting with acrylics. The rolling hills of Charlottesville, VA, have been my home for the last 25 years since marrying Curtis Hathaway, Jr.; a change of pace from the eastern North Carolina riverfront town of Washington, where I was raised. After pursuing careers in advertising and education, in 1990 I left the workforce to concentrate energies on homemaking and raising our daughters, Anne Clark and Brooke. It was during that time my desire to draw and paint clarified. I began exhibiting my art in 2007 with Les Yeux du Monde Gallery in Charlottesville, VA, and in 2010 began showing with Christa Faut Gallery in Cornelius, North Carolina and Art3 Gallery in Manchester, New Hampshire. To be able to paint is such a joy and I can hardly wait to see what manifests on the next canvas. And I consider it a blessing to have a family who encourages and indulges my desire to make art.
